Real.Simple

Last night we watched a slamin video by Rob Bell called “You”.  Rob spoke about how the there are many ancient stories about other gods being born of virgins, being killed and then resurrected from the dead. He asked a tough question, “What makes our God’s story so special?”

The early Christian world was dominated by the Romans. They were a military superpower that was bent on conquest. The early Christians adopted two Roman propaganda terms and used them to describe their movement. These words in English were “gospel” and “church”. The early Christians believed that through these two terms they would show the world that Jesus was Lord.

Rob reminded us that if the only evidence people had for Jesus’ resurrection was our life—would they believe. We must never forget that we are the good news, we are the gospel.

Yo, first blog for the old life group! Last Tuesday we did a little worship at the house. Ashlyn Gautreaux and Paul Musso (from Refuge student ministries) lead us in worship! They did great! The Holy Spirit just ministered to each of our hearts, and it was a time of refreshing.
